What to Expect

For August 2nd, we’ve doubled the “Sam” and doubled the reasons to spend your afternoon at Gioia dell’Amore Cellars.

From 1:00–5:00 pm, Send It Sammies will be serving up handcrafted sandwiches inspired by adventure and built to satisfy. Sink your teeth into favorites like the Cheesesteak Chunder, Fat Tire Italian, or the irresistible Granny Gear Grilled Cheese, alongside crispy fries, hot dogs, and ice cream sandwiches that are sure to make everyone smile.

Then from 2:00–5:00 pm, Sam Swanson fills the tasting room with his soulful vocals, acoustic guitar, and signature looping style, putting his own fresh spin on beloved hits spanning more than six decades. Whether you’re singing along, tapping your foot, or simply soaking in the music with a glass of wine in hand, it’s the kind of performance that makes a Sunday afternoon disappear in the very best way.

The tasting room is open from 1:00–6:00 pm, giving you plenty of time to sip handcrafted wines, enjoy local craft beer or a refreshing wine slushy, and settle into the easy rhythm of a summer afternoon. Around here, great food, great music, and great company always seem to find each other – and this Sunday, they’re all answering to “Sam.” 🍷🎶

About Your Hosts

Sam Swanson is an American singer/songwriter with a soulful croon that occasionally spits bars. He is a full-time solo cover artist, wedding singer, and touring musician with over 2 decades and 15 albums of experience. Sam is known for putting his own unique artistic spin on classic pop tunes spanning the past 6+ Decades using his powerful voice, acoustic guitar, and looping pedal for percussion.

Send It Sammies: is a mountain-bike-inspired sandwich food truck serving up artisan creations born straight from the trails of Greensboro, NC. Owner Joel jokes that when a coworker first suggested mountain biking, he laughed it off — “Bikes are for kids and Tour de France folks,” he thought. One ride proved him wrong. It wasn’t just the rush of speed or that little jolt of fear on a tight turn; it was the style, the people, and the community. Mountain biking helped him get healthier, discover some of the most beautiful places in America, and ultimately inspired a leap of faith: trading his corporate job for life on the food truck.

Gioia dell’Amore Cellars (pronounced: “Joy-A” – “dell” – “Ah more ay”) invites you to savor the Joy of Love in every sip and every step. Nestled on 96 acres of rolling hills in Mayodan, NC, our vineyard is a rustic escape where love lingers in the air and laughter dances among the vines of Autumn Creek Vineyards.
